About Tish's Author Visits

Tish inspires students with a presentation (30 min. virtual, 45 min. in person) that reveals how she became a children's book author and how she writes her books. Trained as a professional singer, she also SINGS songs she wrote for Sesame Street and Disney. At the end of each presentation she leaves plenty of time for questions and leads the students in singing her Reading and Writing Song...

Tish Rabe has been named by her teacher fans as "The Singing Author" because she SINGS during her presentations for students and parents alike. Trained as a professional singer, she has a Vocal Performance degree from Ithaca College School of Music with a major in Opera and a Minor in Jazz. She is the featured vocalist in her own band "Tish Rabe and Friends" which includes her husband John who plays bass and tenor banjo. Their band plays favorites from the American Songbook as well as contemporary country hits and jazz classics.

A Visit Review

"Tish Rabe presented to the student at Niantic Elementary School in East Lyme Connecticut and our students in grades K- 4 were engaged throughout the whole assembly.  A few teachers told me it was the best assembly we had all year. Ms. Rabe talked about the creative writing process and how she became one of a hand full of authors allowed to write for the Cat in the Hat Learning Library series. I highly recommend Tish Rabe for an assembly at other schools."

Sincerely,

Julie Horner, Niantic Center School, Niantic, Connecticut
